Jamie is actually the one who should give this address, but I will say that the farming season is officially over now in Portland, now that the kale has frozen and the other greens have died. Check out this close-up of frost on the kale:
But, as Jamie says, frost makes carrots sweet (or is it kale?), so he harvested the rest of the carrots this weekend. Look at how big they are!
Those are HUGE carrots (accompanied by a huge smile!)! Most of the carrots at the farmers' market in New York are the size of crayons--there's barely anything left after you peel them. Nice job!!
